Students are designing beds for the rooms they are making out of shoe boxes. It took a while to figure out which bed they were going to make. Would they be making a twin, a queen, a king bed? What is that area? How many square feet would that be? What ARE square feet? There were many questions they had to answer before they started.
The beds were made of pipe cleaners (the stabilizers and joints) and straws (the covers). Next week Mrs. Lahham's daughter, Nina Lahham, an interior designer with Perkins+Will in DC is going to come and look at their houses. I wish I was in 3rd grade again!
