On Tuesday, Nov 11, 2014, 5th grade went to Williamsburg. We were split into groups. My group took the shuttle to get to the Duke of Gloucester Street. First we went into the Charlton’s Coffeehouse. The man inside acted as if we were real colonial people. He showed us some rooms with extremely pretty wallpaper.
Then we sat down and drank of the following choices: coffee, tea or chocolate. I chose tea. I put sugar and cream in my tea. It was delicious! If you are thinking that the chocolate was hot chocolate, then you are wrong. This type of chocolate was bitter, and not very sweet. Ask Jill Collier, 5th grade, if you want to know more about chocolate.
After we went to the Coffee House, we went to some other shops like the medicine maker, the clothing maker, and the jewelry maker. My group stopped and ate lunch behind one of the gift shops. The gift shop was bustling with excited children buying toys, quills, ink, keychains, ornaments, and snow globes. I got a stuffed cow. It was adorable! After that, we went to the Courthouse and went into the locks. It was awesome! We also went to the Jail, the Capitol, and the Governor’s Palace. My adventure at Williamsburg was beyond compare!
